The Castle Rock fire of 2005 destroyed thousands of acres of land in and around the Ketchum, Idaho area.
These photos are of fields of wild hollyhock that are now growing at increadible rates because of the charcoal rich soil the fire left behind. I love these pics because they illustrate new life emerging literally out of ashes and prove that something can rise out of nothing. Even though the area looks haunting it possess an interesting, beautiful contrast of color.
Nature does take care of itself and doesn't need any of us to interfere or compromise it. Waters turn and clean themselves and trees basiclly weed each other out as they fight for positioning.
These unseen events are happening every day. Let's not forget to celebrate them!
